Councillor Peter La Broy
Poughill & Stratton Ward
Cllr Peter La Broy was elected unopposed to Bude-Stratton Town Council in May 2007
The following information was provided by Cllr La Broy:-
My parents moved to Widemouth Bay in 1967, to purchase and run the Bay View Hotel (now the Bay View Inn). I attended Bude Junior School, now the Parkhouse Centre, then Budehaven Secondary School. After sixth form, I went to St Austell College and studied travel and tourism, a career that I decided not to pursue. In 1987, I started working for Bott Ltd and stayed with them until 2006. My career started as junior salesman, then I worked initially in the North of the UK as Sales Executive moving to the southern region about 1989. We moved back to Bude in 1999. I increasingly worked in marketing and was sponsored by Bott through the Chartered Institute of Marketing diploma in 2002. After purchasing Bude Sports in 2005, I decided to leave my career at Bott and join my wife Clare in our business.
Clare and I were married in 1986 and have three children, Anne, James and Kate. We live in Victoria Road, Bude.
I have always had an interest in local politics and am keen to serve the town well. It is my desire that the Council perform a well documented job in a fair, efficient and equitable manner. If you have an interest in the machinations of local government, please take the opportunity to come along to our meetings.
