Volunteers - Castle Heritage Centre & Gallery
There are opportunities for volunteers to work within the recently opened Castle Heritage Centre. These include:

Archive Volunteers
We currently have a small group of volunteers who assist the Heritage Centre Manager in processing and accessioning items to be added to our extensive archive collection. The work also includes assisting in responding to local history and family history enquiries

Education Volunteers
We have an Education and Lifelong Learning Officer who is developing an education programme. Volunteers can assist the Education Officer in preparation for and delivery of education workshops

Front of House Volunteers
Perhaps you would be interested in acting as a room steward (answering peoples questions about the exhibits and local area) or helping out in the shop?

The Council is currently developing a 'Volunteer Policy'. Training and guidance can be provided either in-house by existing staff and volunteers or the Council will pay for your attendance at specific training courses
