At last night’s Full Council Meeting, BSTC welcomed a new Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jackie Diffey, who was elected unanimously to the post.
Cllr Diffey joined BSTC in May 2021, and plays an active role in many areas of Town Council work. She is Vice Chair of the Oversight Committee, and Lead Cllr for Arts & Culture. She is also a member of the Planning and Staffing Committees.
Cllr Diffey’s primary aim is to support the Mayor in her role, but she also hopes to build
ever-stronger working relationships between Cllrs and BSTC employees, and amongst the Cllrs themselves.
During the meeting, Mayor Amanda Tame thanked her previous Deputy, Simon Bellamy, for his time and dedication to the role. The BSTC team would like to echo that and wishes Cllr Diffey all the very best in her new role.
