Cable landing on Crooklets Beach

The Grace Hopper Cable

A new transatlantic data cable connecting North America and Europe from New York to Bude and down to Spain will be landing on Crooklets Beach this weekend. The ships can be seen in the Bay currently working on the cable further out to sea.

We have been advised that the cable is likely to land on Crooklets Beach Saturday 3rd July- this is weather dependant,

This means there will be restricted access on the beach while the work takes place. As far as we are aware access to the car park and beach huts will not be affected.
