BSTC Mayor, Amanda Tame, met with local MP Scott Mann and the National Trust’s Jon Stewart last week to plant a cherry blossom tree at the Bencoolen Play Park, Bude.
All MPs were offered a cherry blossom tree for their constituency by the National Trust as part of the Blossom Watch campaign. Blossom Watch aims to emulate Japan’s Hanami – the ancient tradition of viewing and celebrating blossom.
MP Scott Mann chose Bude to receive the tree – Pink Perfection – in recognition of the town’s environmental credentials.
