Event Invitation: Celebrate the Storm Tower’s New Chapter
Bude-Stratton Town Council is thrilled to invite the community to celebrate the successful relocation and rebuilding of the iconic Storm Tower at Compass Point.
This event is set to take place on Tuesday 5th March, St Piran’s Day, beginning at 2pm.
Everyone in the community is welcome to join in the festivities.
Saving the Storm Tower from Coastal Erosion
Faced with the challenges of coastal erosion, the decision was made not just to save the Storm Tower, but to secure its future. Through a remarkable engineering feat, the tower was meticulously dismantled stone by stone and rebuilt further inland, ensuring its preservation for generations to come. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to safeguarding our local history while adapting to the challenges posed by our natural environment.
Join us at the St Piran’s Day Opening Ceremony
