Since the success of the Crowdfunder, Council Officers have been busy taking the Compass Point Project on to the next stage.
One of the first items on the agenda was to have the site typography and laser surveys undertaken, this was completed by Mark Trewin from Datumline surveys who very kindly offered his services for free to the project.
Next up on the agenda and currently underway:
⏺ Ecology surveys as the site on on a site of special scientific interest
⏺ Ground Investigations on the proposed new site
⏺ Consultation with Natural England
⏺ Heritage Lottery Application
⏺ Tender opportunities:
We will shortly be issuing a tender enquiry for the supervising Architects. We will be seeking to engage a local architect who is RIBA registered and has heritage conservation experience. The tender will include gaining Listed Building Consent, preparing tenders for the works and supervising the contract.
We are inviting any interested architects to send in their expression of interest now so that we can ensure you are made aware of the tender advertisement.
We are also interested in contractors for the works, those that have experience in heritage stone masonry. Any local companies keen to undertake or assist in this high profile project should also send in an expression of interest. This will help our professional team target the local opportunities.
For both Architects and Contractors please provide full contact details and summarise your past experience in a few sentences. Please email office@bude-stratton.gov.uk for the attention of the project officer.
