Further to our recent press release having now received the Heritage Lottery Grant, we are now in the position where we have all the funding required to complete the project.
The final piece of the jigsaw is in appointing a contractor!
The project is currently under planning and listed building consent review, and we anticipate a decision in early December. The drawings and conservation statements are available on Cornwall Council’s planning website (search name Compass Point or ref PA21/09155 and PA21/09156).
As part of our procurement process, we are actively seeking expressions of interest in tendering as the main contractor for these works in January / February 2022 with a view to start on site before Easter.
We are offering an introduction to the project with individual discussions at Bude-Stratton Town Council offices on Thursday 25th November 2021. The aim will be to discuss the challenges of this project with its special setting, the methodology of the conservation aims, to outline our plans for community engagement for this iconic structure and to explain the tender package we are now progressing with.
The sessions would last no more than an hour and we will be represented by our Project Manager and Architect.
We invite you to take this opportunity to attend by contacting Francesca Churchill-Zerilli on FC-Zerilli@bude-stratton.gov.uk who will make arrangements for you to attend the meeting.
