In the early part of 2020, Bude-Stratton Town Council were approached by BT in relation to telephone boxes being discontinued in the local area and if the Council would be interested in purchasing them. Upon consulting with BT, we secured the kiosk located in Bush along the A39.
Just prior to Christmas we engaged with the community to have their say on how the telephone box should be used going forward. We had a fantastic range of responses but the results of the consultation indicated to repurpose the kiosk as a home for an onsite defibrillator.
The Communities Committee reviewed the data and agreed with the responses received and to make the space available for a defibrillator. We are asking for any local charities who are involved with defibrillators to make contact with the Town Council to take this forward.
Thank you to all those who contributed thus far and we look forward to seeing another lifesaving defibrillator in place for our community.
