Could You Help Your Community in a Flood Emergency?

Bude’s Community Flood Wardens play a vital role in supporting the town during flood events as part of the local Community Emergency Flood Plan.

A live exercise is taking place on Wednesday 28 May, and anyone interested in becoming a Flood Warden is encouraged to come along and see what’s involved.

Event details:

  • Date: Wednesday 28 May
  • Time: Please arrive for 6.30pm
  • Location: Meet at the Parkhouse Centre
  • Duration: The session will run until approximately 9.00pm, with around an hour spent out and about across Bude

This is a practical, hands-on session, so there’s no need for any theoretical training or previous experience—just a willingness to volunteer and support the local community in times of need.

Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and bring water. If you have a mobile phone, please bring it with you. You’re also encouraged to download the What3Words app in advance, although this isn’t essential.

If you’d like to take part or find out more about becoming a Community Flood Warden, please contact isaltern@bude-stratton.gov.uk
