Gas works update: Poughill Road, Bude
Wales & West Utilities is continuing work to upgrade gas pipes in the West Park Road and Poughill Road areas of Bude.
The project began in September 2025 and is part of a wider programme to improve the safety and reliability of the local gas network for homes and businesses. The works are expected to continue until the end of summer next year.
Traffic management
Wales & West Utilities has planned the works in liaison with Cornwall Council. The following traffic management arrangements are in place or scheduled:
- Rolling traffic lights on Poughill Road (until 2 February)
- A road closure on Poughill Road, between its junctions of Ocean View Road and West Fairholme Road, as well as a junction closure on Poughill Road and Creathorne Road (2 February – 8 March)
- Works will then continue along Poughill Road, and temporary traffic lights will be used until mid-May
Residents are advised to allow extra time for journeys during this period and to follow on-site signage.
