Katy’s Corner Unveils Interactive Play Wonderland!

Bencoolen Play Park’s Katy’s Corner has undergone a successful transformation, reopening as of Friday 12 January 2023.

Led by the Bude-Stratton Town Council, the redevelopment project aimed to enhance the play experience for toddlers while respecting the park’s cultural significance. The completed project introduces an updated play area for the community.

A special acknowledgment and heartfelt thanks go to Cllr Goode, whose dedication and vision played a pivotal role in making this enchanting project a reality.

Mayor Mike Dawe, along with council members, acknowledged the completion of the project. The Mayor remarked, “The transformation of Katy’s Corner reflects our commitment to creating spaces that cater to the needs of our community. I’m pleased to see the collaborative efforts of the Council and the positive impact on our local play environment.”

The changes include features promoting social interaction among young residents. Safety concerns were addressed by relocating Katy’s Corner to the same level as the older children’s play area, ensuring enhanced security and visibility for parents. The former location is now a scenic viewing and picnicking area.
