Local Hero Honoured in 2024 New Year Honours List
In recognition of his outstanding dedication to the community, Godfrey Harrison, President of the Royal British Legion Bude & Stratton branch, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the New Year Honours List.
Harrison, an 85-year-old formal naval gunner, has been an integral part of the local Royal British Legion branch for over three decades. His commendable service includes spearheading the annual Poppy Appeal in Bude-Stratton, which achieved a remarkable fundraising total of £14,750 in 2019.
