New Grants Policy agreed
The Full Council last week agreed to a new Grants Policy, effective immediately, which aims to support community groups and individuals who make a positive difference to Bude and Stratton Parish.
The Council is happy to consider a wide range of applications, such as funding for a new project or local group, funding for equipment that might help an organisation, funding for events and training. Key will be an ability to show that the support provided will ultimately be of benefit to the community, and that it additionally has the support of the community.
Under the new scheme, applicants can apply for support from BSTC during two rounds of funding per year. This year’s total available Grants Fund is £18,000, and the deadline for the first round of funding is 17 June, 2022 where the available pot will be £9,000. Applications for the second round of funding need to be submitted by 31 December, 2022.
The previous maximum grant of £200 has been scrapped, allowing the Town Council greater flexibility to award more significant levels of funding in support of larger projects where needed. Following initial assessment for the eligibility and suitability of applications by Town Council officers, public engagement will be sought before final decisions are made at Full Council, to which the public are always invited.
Full policy details can be found on the BSTC website HERE, along with the Grant Application Form. Paper copies will also be available in the Town Council offices at the Parkhouse Centre.
