Election Announcement

Cornwall Council has announced that an election will be held for one Councillor to represent the Bude Ward on Bude-Stratton Town Council.

Nomination Process
  • Who can run? Anyone interested on standing for election can obtain the necessary nomination papers from the Deputy Returning Officer at 4S, Cornwall Council, County Hall, Truro, TR1 3AY. Check your eligibility to become a councillor here.
  • Submission Deadline: Nomination papers must be submitted in person no later than 4pm on Friday 6th September 2024.
Delivery of Nomination Papers 

Nomination papers can only be submitted in person at the following locations and times:

  • County Hall, Truro: 30th August, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th-6th September 2024, between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
  • The Parkhouse Centre, Bude: 4th September 2024, between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Polling Day
  • If more than one candidate is nominated, voting will take place on Thursday, 3rd October 2024.

Voter Registration and Voting Information
  • Register to Vote: The deadline to register to vote is Midnight on Tuesday, 17th September 2024. Register at uk/register-to-vote.
  • Voter Authority Certificate: You only need to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate if you do not have accepted photo ID. Applications must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, 25th September 2024 at uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.
  • Postal and Proxy Voting:
    • Apply for a postal or proxy vote by 5pm on Wednesday, 18th September 2024.
