Notice of Proclamation

Notice of Proclamation – 6pm, Sunday 11 September, Bude Light

The official Proclamation of the new Sovereign, King Charles III, will be read at 6pm on Sunday, 11 September, by Cllr Amanda Tame, Mayor of Bude-Stratton. This will take place at the Bude Light, and the whole community is invited to attend.

This protocol is a cascading process. The Principal Proclamation will be read tomorrow morning, from St James’ Palace in London, following the Accession Council and His Majesty’s Declaration and signing of the oath. Further Proclamations in Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff will be read at midday on Sunday, and subsequently at county and city level at 1pm.

It has been confirmed that the Accession Council will be televised for the first time in history.

In line with national guidance and protocol, the Union Flag will be hoisted to full mast for the Proclamation on Saturday, and returned to half mast on Sunday.
