Pitch and Putt to reopen in May

Bude-Stratton Town Council voted unanimously at the Full Council Meeting last week to keep the town’s Pitch and Putt course on Summerleaze Downs. The popular facility will re-open on 1st May this year, and run through to the end of September.

The Pitch and Putt course has been part of Bude’s make-up for many years, and is popular with locals and visitors alike. The recent public consultation on Summerleaze Downs revealed that almost 60% of respondents wanted to see the Pitch and Putt remain.

“We are really pleased to continue to support the Pitch and Putt on the Downs,” said Mayor Amanda Tame. “Many people feel that it is part of Bude’s heritage and charm, and it complements the town’s golf course and crazy golf facility perfectly. It’s a lovely green, open space, and provides the perfect spot to enjoy a gently competitive outdoor activity.”

The course is maintained by BSTC’s Facilities team, and this year, as with the 2021 season, ticketing and marketing will be undertaken by the community groups with tenancy of the Pavilion.
