Cornwall Council is reaching out to local community groups, charities and social enterprise organisations that may be interested in reusing items collected at Cornwall’s Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs).
Last year Cornwall Council reviewed the services it provides across its 14 HWRC sites and how they can support the goals of the Council’s Resources and Waste Strategy. One of the recommendations from the review was to increase reuse opportunities at HWRCs. This would allow onsite staff to identify and keep separate suitable items, which could be collected by approved voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations for reuse and resale across Cornwall.
To help inform and shape potential reuse opportunities, Cornwall Council and Suez are undertaking a joint soft market test over the coming weeks.
If you would like a copy of the soft market test questionnaire, please contact the Waste Team at CornwallRecycles@cornwall.gov.uk.
