Remembrance and Armistice Day Commemorations in Bude and Stratton 2024
This past weekend, Bude and Stratton came together to commemorate Remembrance Day and Armistice Day. The event saw a heartfelt turnout, as community members, veterans, local organisations, and civic leaders gathered to honour those who served and sacrificed for our freedom.
The commemorations included a solemn parade through the heart of Bude, led by representatives of the Royal British Legion, local cadets, and community groups. Following the procession, wreaths were laid at the war memorial, where attendees observed a moment of silence in reflection and respect for the fallen.
Mayor Steven Haynes joined the ceremony to pay his respects, alongside councillors and local dignitaries. The collective presence of our community—young and old—demonstrated a strong, shared commitment to remembering the courage and dedication of those who served.
The turnout across Bude and Stratton was moving, with families and individuals gathering in unity to pay their respects. It was inspiring to see so many come together, standing as one in recognition of Remembrance and Armistice Day.
We hope you enjoy the images captured over the two days. Thank you to everyone who participated in this important tribute, with special thanks to Dave Worth, Chairman of the Bude and Stratton Branch of the Royal British Legion, for his dedication to making the commemorations so meaningful.
