Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez, along with Cornwall Council and the Safer Cornwall initiative have joined forces to provide support to seaside towns across the County with the introduction of the Safer Summer Scheme fund.
This scheme provides funding for street marshals in busy public spaces during key hours, as well as additional support for the town’s CCTV system.
Bude-Stratton Town Council has been allocated funding to contract two SIA accredited street marshals from Town & Country Security, who will be patrolling each evening and night starting Friday 17th July.
The route will be flexible to respond to the need and any Anti-Social Behaviour or large groups that need disbursing to other areas. However, the general area will include The Strand, Bencoolen Park, The Castle grounds, the beaches including the sand dunes, Ocean Caves and Compass Point.
We welcome this support over the next ten week summer period to keep Bude a safe and welcoming destination for visitors and residents.
