Skatepark Redevelopment Update: Planning Application Nears Submission
The redevelopment of Bude’s skate park is making great progress, with final designs approved by Bude-Stratton Town Council in July. Since then, further investigations and planning have been carried out, including ensuring appropriate drainage systems are in place. The planning application is now in its final stages and will be submitted in early October.
The exciting new design includes both a regeneration of the existing space and the addition of a brand-new section, which is why planning permission is required.
Key features of the new skate park will include:
- A one-of-a-kind surf-skate space with two runs (frontside and backside), ending in a bowl and allowing users to pump continuously in a perpetual line
- A stand-alone bowl
- A park area with kerbs, hips, and banks
Once complete, the redeveloped park will offer a much-improved space for skaters of all levels, providing both traditional skate elements and innovative new features. Stay tuned for further updates as we move into the next stage of the project!
