The Castle is set in its own grounds that are mainly laid to lawn. There are a number of benches for public use and we welcome those having picnics.
We’re dog friendly although we do ask all dogs are kept under control on a lead and any dog waste is removed, bagged and binned.
The Bude Light was commissioned by Bude-Stratton Town Council to mark the millennium whilst celebrating the inventions of Sir Goldsworthy Gurney who built The Castle behind. Designed by local artist Carole Vincent and built in collaboration with Anthony Fanshawe, the paved area surrounding the colourful slender concrete cone presents as an amphitheatre.
The bandstand, lawn and the Bude Light are all available for hire, either individually or as a whole, for community events, wedding celebrations and other activities. For further information please contact The Castle Manager Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.00pm on 01288 357300 or email thecastle@bude-stratton.gov.uk
